Monogram It

I'm not usually a fan of throwing the new couple's monogram everywhere from the dance floor to the table cloth to the napkins, but I love the way it's done here. The industrial letters fit for a modern loft wedding or a rustic farmhouse; not great for a more traditional country club or hotel wedding. The letters are placed in a way that pays homage to your names, while feeling like home decor.  It's natural versus the awkward white monogram tablecloth that seems to find it's way to sweetheart tables across the nation.

When I first heard that Alfred Angelo had a Disney princess collection I thought it was a little weird.  I loved Disney as a child, but I am not one of those who has carried that love into adulthood (except for maybe the Little Mermaid).   However, today when I was scoping out their bridesmaid dress scene, I spotted this uber romantic gown inspired by Sleeping Beauty.  The color is rose mist and dresses in these soft colors are becoming more and more popular.  It's a unique touch to a Fall or Spring wedding especially if you are getting married outside preferably under a big oak tree.

My newest obsession is ...

For $35 you get shampoo/condition + scalp massage, champagne, and any hair style from their adorable little grey menu books.  There is a recommended tip of $10 and for up-dos it's $70.   I went with the Cosmo, lots of loose curls for a total of $45 (blowout + tip).  My guy got so much volume and shine out of my usually pin straight hair that I felt like a big deal all evening.

Dry Bar is the perfect stop before your engagement party, any photo sessions (ahem big hair for the boudoir shoot), rehearsal dinner, and it's especially perfect for a girls afternoon before the bachelorette party.

My Fave Reception Look Right Now

Your wedding cuff!

If you have $365 to spend on a cuff please please get this one from Courtney Prince's Etsy Shop - Doloris Petunia so I can live vicariously through you!  She has many amazing and unique items for the not so thrifty bride!

Hangers

So I've been eyeing those wire hangers that say in my case Mrs. Branson, but I have not been ecstatic about the cost!  After getting one for me, my maids, and my mom I will be out about $150.  While I consider myself a crafty person I do not consider myself even with pliers strong enough to make my own.  Lucky for me I found this on The Knotty Bride!

Such a great idea to save money and have cute hangers.  All that's needed is a sharpie, roll of tulle ribbon (color is up to you), and a pack of wooden hangers.  I think I will do names in calligraphy instead of the date.

BHLDN Sale

If you’ve been dreaming of a BHLDN wedding and you don’t want to settle for anything less than the real thing, fear not they are having a sale!  Here are my faves!

For the boho bride snatch up the Shasta Daisy Belt ($100) to jazz up a simple mermaid dress or adorn a flowy a-line.
The Captured Devotion Locket ($12) is a delicate piece meant to be tied around your bouquet to keep a loved one close, but I say throw in a picture of your parents on their wedding day loop a gold chain through and make your own unique piece of jewelry.
Only a certain person could wear the Greenbow Lace Gown ($400) and make it bridal.  If you are the kind of bride to jump in the car and elope at a B&B in the country then this is the gown for you.  I could even see this working at a rooftop engagement party in San Fran when there’s a nip in the air.

Grab Rustic Number Sleeves ($4 each) for each of your tables, check out these tutorials for Crepe Paper Flowers and Cutting Wine Bottles and voila instant and cheap centerpieces!

Garden Wedding

I love this Sue Wong gown from Nordstrom!  It’s $558 (seriously!)  The tiers make a super romantic pick for a spring Garden wedding; I’m thinking Nasher Sculpture Center, hair in loose curls with a birdcage veil, long pearl necklace and blush pink heels.

Lovely Little Favor

As you'll learn I am obsessed with Etsy and I just had to share this adorable soap favor by Samiteo.  The bars come wrapped, tied with a bow, and hang tag that you can personalize!  This look is perfect for the shabby chic bride who isn't so crafty!  You also get to pick your scent.  I recommend lavender; everyone needs a little calming power after a wedding.  And lastly for the bride on a budget it's $160 for 100 favors!

Hipster Wedding

I feel like no hipster wedding would be complete without these adorable and customizable cake toppers from Wood and Grain Etsy Shop

Parisian Wedding

My fiance and I got engaged in Paris so I’m super biased to this theme, but I think it can work for any bride.  Throw in a crepe station, pink and black details, and some French decor and you’ve got a Paris themed Bridal Shower or wedding!

If you are in DFW - Flippin' Out Crepes does on-site catering!  Their nutella crepe is a Saturday staple in our house!

Hello World

I got engaged to my amazing fiance Quinn on April 9, 2012 in a park by the Eiffel Tower.  I've truly enjoyed planning my wedding and I love blogging so even though there are a bazillion wedding blogs out there I wanted to start my own.

I'll be posting ideas, photos, and any helpful tips I gain along the way to the aisle next May.  I have a pretty specific style which I like to call trendy vintage romantic boho.  That has completely translated to my own wedding and hopefully here as well.

If you have any photos, ideas, suggestions or questions feel free to tweet at me @akaezzie, email lovelylittlebride@gmail.com or comment here.

Enjoy! Courtney
